Amanda Cantu, MD, ABIM, is an endocrinology, diabetes, thyroid, hormone, and weight loss specialist practicing at RGV Endocrine Center located in McAllen, Texas. Her mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality care to those living in Hidalgo County and throughout southeastern Texas.
Dr. Cantu graduated from the Universidad Mexico Americana Del Norte Escuela De Ciencias De La Salud, located in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, in 2011. She then went on to complete her internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley–Valley Baptist Medical Center (UTRGV-VBMC) in Harlingen, Texas, before completing her endocrinology fellowship at Texas Tech University Sciences Center in Midland, Texas, in 2020.
Dr. Cantu is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
